1934 BMW 319

BMW cars archive: After several racing successes with the BMW 315/1 sports car, BMW felt the time was right to enter the internationally important two-litre class. The engine's swept volume was therefore increased once again to just over 1.9 litres, making 55 hp available from the triple-carburettor version. Another new model was developed from the 315 saloon as well, combining the 315's chassis and body with a new 45-hp engine with two carburettors and a displacement of 1.9 litres; this was the new BMW 319. BMW built this model in five body versions from December 1934 to the spring of 1937 with 3,029 sales accounted for by the saloon alone.
The BMW 319 could be clearly recognised by the three chrome strips on the bonnet's side grilles.

2011 BMW 5 Series Touring F11

BMW cars: The new BMW 5 Series Touring is the perfect symbiosis of driving pleasure, efficiency, versatility and sporting elegance. The new BMW 5 Series Touring is making its debut with a choice of two straight-six petrol engines as well as a four-cylinder and a six-cylinder diesel.

AC Schnitzer 5 Series GT F07

BMW tuners : "Gran Turismo" means "Grand Tour", and this is the principle behind the 5-series GT by AC Schnitzer. The performance upgrade from 245 to 286 HP for the six-cylinder 530d already gives the standard car more pulling power and racing flair, which is demonstrated externally by the AC Schnitzer engine styling with capacity logo. Yet the 5-series GT by AC Schnitzer doesn't just bring a gleam to the eyes of BMW fans, but acoustically it delivers what the aesthetics promise at first glance. The AC Schnitzer twin sports rear silencer is the ideal tuning product for drivers with an appreciation of engine sound, to whom design elements such as the chromed "Sports Trim" tailpipe trims and the chromed "Racing" tailpipe trim are equally important.

G-POWER 760i Storm F01

BMW tuners: The latest masterpiece and an impressive example for the exceptional performance of the G-POWER manufactory is the G-POWER 760i STORM which now closes a gap in the BMW programme: M-Feeling for the BMW “Luxusliner“. The core part of the G-POWER performance enhancement for the 6,0l V12 bi-turbo engine is a substantial modification of both “TwinPower” turbo chargers used by BMW. In co-operation with the compressor manufacturer ASA which can rely on 20 years experience in developing and producing radial compressors (basically, radial compressors are turbo charger compressor units which are put into motion by the crankshaft via a belt driven transmission), the performance of both turbo chargers was significantly improved without affecting their endurance.

BMW Concept 5 Series ActiveHybrid

BMW concept cars: The new BMW Concept 5 Series ActiveHybrid offers a particularly good rendition of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan in all its dynamic, efficient and innovative qualities, at the same time representing the ongoing development of the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 with their drivetrain technology already in production. The drive system featured in the BMW Concept 5 Series ActiveHybrid consists of a straight-six gasoline engine with TwinPower Turbo technology, eight-speed automatic transmission, and electric drive. Integration of BMW ActiveHybrid technology in a sedan already extremely efficient with its "conventional" combustion engine reduces both fuel consumption and emissions once again by more than 10 per cent.

AC Schnitzer BMW X1 E84

BMW tuners: AC Schnitzer is setting totally new standards for driving pleasure in the premium compact segment. The BMW X1 xDrive23d has been upgraded from a 150 kW/204 HP diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo and Common Rail injection to 240 HP. The 2.0 d and 1.8 d units in the BMW X1 also feature Common Rail injection and a turbocharger, and with the AC Schnitzer tuning package achieve 210 and 171 HP respectively. Naturally, the power upgrades are available for both the sDrive and xDrive versions. The AC Schnitzer engine styling including capacity logo is available for vehicles with and without performance upgrade.

Hamann X6 Tycoon Evo M E71

BMW tuners: HAMANN-Motorsport, the renowned specialist for exquisite refinements of BMW-automobiles shows its latest developments on the 80th Geneva Motor Show. The masculine show-piece on the HAMANN exhibition stand with 200 square metres is the world premiere of the 670 hp/493kW strong and 300 km/h fast HAMANN X6 TYCOON EVO M E71 based on the BMW X6 M. Already the shape of the HAMANN X6 TYCOON EVO M E71 with its impressive broad built gives a good hint of what is to be discovered. Mainly responsible for that are the front and the rear wing extensions made of light composite materials. These let the body expand by impressive 60 millimetres.

2011 BMW X5 E70 LCI SAV

For 2011, the BMW X5 E70 models are enhanced with new powertrains and updated design. Innovative new design elements and powertrains are the result of over 4,000 new parts created by BMW designers and engineers for the 2011 BMW X5 E70 LCI. Two of the X5's powertrains will be all-new for 2011, creating the new X5 xDrive50i and X5 xDrive35i, in addition to the familiar BMW Advanced Diesel X5 xDrive35d. All models receive a design update that enhances the brilliant focus and aesthetic appearance of the X5 brand. The body design of the 2011 BMW X5 E70 LCI is characterized by well-balanced proportions that accentuate the vehicle's powerful presence and agility.

2011 BMW 3 Series E93 LCI Convertible

BMW has announced substantial enhancements to the 2011 3 Series E92 LCI Coupé and 2011 BMW 3 Series E93 LCI Convertible, including outstanding style updates and a new engine for 335i models. Fundamentally unchanged are each car's essential attributes of rear-wheel drive (xDrive for the Coupe), near-perfect 50-50 weight distribution, remarkably precise steering, and skillfully engineered suspension, all of which conspire to produce the uniquely driving experience that is quintessentially BMW. All-new is the engine for the 335i model, internally designated the "N55".

BMW cars archive: 1934 BMW 315

BMW cars archive: In 1934 the BMW 315 model is launched. It replaced the BMW 303 which has been in production only for a year. Apart from a more powerful engine this resembled the previous model in technical specification, appearance and equipment. BMW's engineers had increased the engine's displacement to 1.5 litres and raised the power output by four to 34 horsepower, making the BMW 315 the company's first model to break the 100 km/h top speed barrier. At the Berlin Motor Show, BMW presented not only this saloon but the prototype of a sports roadster with strikingly beautiful styling, powered by a 40-horsepower engine with three instead of two carburettors. The public were so impressed by this Type 315/1 that BMW decided to go ahead with small-volume series production.
